This Mocal thermostat is designed to allow additional oil cooling devices to be added to the VW VR6 engine. The thermostat replaces the stock blanking plate that is mounted on the side of the engine supporting the heat exchanger. By simply removing the plate and mounting the thermostat in its place the oil flow is then controlled (at 180 degrees) to a remotely installed oil cooler of your choice.
The thermostat comes with two extensions a long 3/4-16 for applications with heat exchanger remaining in place and a shorter 3/4-16 for applications where the heat exchanger was removed.
Male unions will be needed to connect hoses to the thermostats female ports.
